Before you call anyone
- Use two portals and one local source. The big sites for range, a broker site tied to the local MLS for freshness, and the county records for facts.
- Look at the date. A listing that is months old is often gone.
- Add up the real cost. Taxes, HOA dues, insurance and fees, not only the asking price.
- Pay nothing before you have seen the place. A deposit or “holding fee” ahead of a showing is a warning sign.
